Questions / Answers

What if I'm late?

The performances begin promptly, so you’ll get the most out of the experience if you are on time. We recommend allowing extra travel time on the weekends.

Is there parking?

Street parking is very limited. We recommend taking the subway. All of our experiences are convenient to multiple train lines.

What if it rains?

Only in the event of extreme weather conditions will the experience be cancelled, at which time you will have the option to reschedule. Please dress for the weather.

What should I wear?

Dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. You'll be walking about a mile during our indoor/outdoor experiences. Period costumes (1870s or 1970s) are fun too and might even get you a discount at the door!

Is this appropriate for kids?

Yes, this is a great group or family experience, but please bring kids at your discretion. We recommend our programming for ages 13 and up. Please check individual performance pages for details on age restrictions.

Can I pay for a ticket on the day of the show?

Yes, but we are cash-only at the door. Prepay online with a credit card.

Can I bring a group to the show?

Yes! In every experience, you will be working together in groups no larger than 10. We offer private group performances and rates for groups of 40 or more. Email celia@liveintheater.com for more details about group experiences.

Are these real murder mysteries? Are the stories all true?

Yes and no. The basic facts are grounded in some real awesome (and gruesome!) history, but we’ve used the history and given it some twists to adapt it to our unique storylines. Our experiences aim to be more immersive than educational, but you might come away with some new facts shared by our outstanding actors.

Do I have to sign a waiver? Why?

All participants are required to sign a waiver, copies of which will be available to sign at the start of the show. Participants under 18 must have the waiver signed by a parent or guardian. There is nothing dangerous about our experiences, but you will be walking in the streets of New York City.
