4 Reasons an Interactive Murder Mystery Experience is Just What You Need Right Now

April 27, 2018

There is an endless list of reasons to enjoy the unique theatre experiences especially when a murder mystery is involved. It is one of the most enjoyable forms of entertainment out there, not to mention it is constantly changing and evolving in order to remain interesting and prevalent. Regardless of your age or interests, there is always something to look forward to with the experience, making it a consistently worthwhile adventure for a family, a group of friends, or even just as a solo outing. There are many reasons that an interactive murder mystery experience is just what you need right now. But here are just a few:

#1: An Escape From Reality

It is no secret that we are living in some pretty hard and stressful times. With all of the negative information coming at us from the news, it can be easy to wallow in a sort of self-pity. However, it is just as easy (and more fun) to lose yourself in an interactive theatrical experience! Playing a role that is so far detached from your own life is a blast and lets you forget about your stresses from the real world. Taking too much time to stress and obsess over your problems can prove to be detrimental to your mental health making some sort of escape the perfect medicine!

#2: Exercising Your Mind

Interactive theatre is plenty of fun all on its own. But when you throw solving a murder mystery into the mix, the idea only gets better! While exploring a new world, you will also be exercising your mind while sifting through possible suspects, analyzing alibis, and solving the case. Allowing your mind to work through these types of scenarios and flexing your own brain power is a wonderful way to stay sharp and remind yourself that you’re smarter than you might think.

#3: Meeting Interesting People

Yes, the characters you will have the opportunity to interact with during the show will undoubtedly be a colorful group, but I’m talking about the people that you will be experiencing the show with! During a murder mystery experience, you will be working with the people around you to attempt to solve the case. With talking and discussing the events going on around you being an absolute necessity, it is nearly impossible not to bond through fun team building with your group and form connections that could potentially lead outside of the theater. Developing friendships is always a great experience and what better way to kickstart the process than by solving mysteries together?

#4: Have Fun

Ah, so simple. We are told all the time to just have fun, do the things we love, etc. But in today’s world, that’s easier said than done. We have too many things to worry about or too many responsibilities to just forget our troubles. In much the same way as interactive theatre helps us to escape reality, it also gives us the perfect excuse to play and have fun! Not only that, but an experience like this really gets your adrenaline pumping, which is an enormous benefit to the rest of your body, meaning that just by having fun you are also helping your physical and mental well being. Having fun is important and a theatrical experience like that not only makes it possible, but encourages it!

There are many reasons why interactive theatre is something you need in your life. It provides you with an escape from any problems you may have in the “real world”, it allows you to use logic and problem solve in a fun environment, there’s no telling how many new people you will meet, and above all else it allows you to let loose and have fun!

Come and experience all of these benefits and more with one of Live in Theater’s outdoor immersive theatre in NYC and be sure to let us know in the comments what you think some of the best parts of interactive theatre are!
